OUR TEAM
MARK A. GONS, CPA
Mark knew at the age of ten that he was going to follow in his father's footsteps and become a CPA someday. After high school he pursued a college degree and graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1977. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration he began working in the Toledo office of Arthur Young & Company, a national accounting firm. In 1979 Mark moved to Findlay, Ohio and became a partner at Walter Gons & Co., an accounting firm founded by his father in 1964 and located in Fostoria, Ohio. Mark restructured the Company in 2001 and in 2009 he moved his offices to their current location in Findlay, Ohio.
JORDAN GONS, CPA
Jordan is a third generation CPA. His grandfather, Walter L. Gons and his father, Mark A. Gons both have inspired him to pursue a career in accounting. Jordan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bob Jones University in 2006 and immediately began working for Deloitte & Touche, a Big Four accounting firm, out of their Greenville, SC office. In 2008 he accepted a position with an advertising technology startup company as the Senior Business Analyst where he was able to hone not only his analytical skills, but also his love for combining business and technology. He returned to the family accounting firm in 2010 to assist in developing its vision for a third generation of offering financial services to the public.
PATTI BROWN
Patti joined the Company in 1988 as a secretary. With a desire to be highly effective for the firm, she took it upon herself to obtain further education in accounting at Terra Technical College. Patti has been the Office Manager since 2001 and remains an integral part of the operation.
FIRM HISTORY
In 1964, Walter L. Gons, CPA established an accounting practice in Fostoria, Ohio. That firm, Walter Gons & Co. was established with the original founder's desire to provide high quality financial services to the public. That same passion transcended to the founder's son, Mark. A. Gons, CPA, who restructured the Company in 2001 to broaden the scope of the financial services offered to the public. The company now operates as Mark A. Gons, CPA. In 2009 the Company moved its offices to its current location in Findlay, Ohio. In 2010, Jordan Gons joined the firm, which began a new chapter with a third generation CPA!
